From the Ol’ Cowpoke: “Well buckaroos, I hope you all had a great Summer. On Thursday, September 15 around 6:45pm we’ll head back over to the old Bar M (better known as the NCSU McKimmon Center). We’ll light camp fires, sit around and swap lies and watch cowboy movies! It don’t get no better than that!”

As we always do in September, we’ll celebrate Gene Autry‘s birthday with one of his greats, “Goldmine In The Sky” (Republic, 1938) Starring Gene, Smiley Burnette, Carol Hughes, Craig Reynolds and Cupid Ainsworth. This one was directed by Joseph Kane.

To round out our features, We’ll see Tim Holt and Richard Martin in “Border Treasure” (RKO, 1950) also starring Jane Nigh, John Doucette and House Peters, Jr. This feature was directed by George Archainbaud.

Our serial for this season will be: “The Valley of Vanishing Men” (Columbia, 1942) Starring Bill Elliott, Slim Summerville, Carmen Morales and Kenneth MacDonald. Directed by Spencer G. Bennet.

A reminder that Milo’s all-day Cowboy Show in Siler City will be held at Charlie’s Barn just east of Siler City on September 24. Click here for details.

In October, we’ll celebrate our “Cowboy of the Year” Eddie Dean. The Collector’s Badges will be available at that meeting and we’ll show one of Eddie’s classics.
